Ron Hull Demolition Ltd were awarded the contract for the Asbestos Removal and Demolition of St. Martins Hall, Grimsby through competitive tender.

The project was planned carefully by Ron Hull's Management Team and in consultation with the Site Team. Works commenced with the soft strip, where Demolition Operatives removed any loose items including cosmetic elements, tables, chairs, desks, doors, door frames, skirting boards, suspended ceilings and flooring. The waste materials were deposited directly into the skips located adjacent to the building entrance ready to be sent back to the Ron Hull Group recycling centre in Rotherham.

Once the soft strip had been completed, Ron Hull Demolition's specialist Asbestos Removal team were employed on site for the safe removal of any asbestos containing materials as per Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

The first phase of the demolition utilised the wheeled excavator with grab attachment to open up the west end gable wall, working from top down. All waste arisings were separated, processed and loaded into skips for disposal. Working into the building the excavator removed the wooden floor sections and then continued with the next stage of roof followed by side walls and then floor area. Progressing through the structure the machine remained on the footprint of the building demolishing the remaining structure. 

To the delight of the Client, the project was completed within budget on time and most importantly without incident.
